Abide Ministries Six Book Collection by Richard T. Case

1. All For Jesus- Abiding in the Vine

To have a fully abundant life, starts with knowing the will of the father. All for Jesus-goes over all the steps for achieving unity. The book is for married or the single persons. It will help you learn to leave all your daily decisions to the will of God. Be willing to abide and follow HIM. It took a while for me to learn to approach God with all decisions, even the small ones.

2. Discerning God's Will

God's will is personal, knowable, specific, simple and in perfect timing. Discerning God's will teaches us how to move our life from ordinary to extraordinary. We aren't good listeners, so the book was written to help us discern God's will. It's a guide to seek and obey God in all things. In order to walk the path, he chooses for you, you have to make sure the decisions you make are according to HIS will for your life.  I can't remember how many detours I have taken in my life before learning this.

3. Adversity-But There's Hope Ahead

Learn how to release your adversity-be filled with hope. Richard shares biblical truths about Christ's plan and promise for a wonderful life, regardless of our poor choices. How to learn to count everything a blessing is hard, but through trust in God, you can become the person HE meant you to be. It doesn't come easy to be rewards are many.

4. The Tree of Life-Understanding Life After Death

The story impresses on you, that the life you live on Earth matters. You need to live your life through a relationship with God and a redemption through Christ. Prepare yourself for your Heavenly home. It's true what you do with your life on Earth matters. Did you put God first in your life?  Are you a strong Christian?  This is a book you need to immerse yourself in.

5. The Blessings of Unity- God's Best for Your Marriage

Our society does little to provide married couples on how to find happiness together. This book helps couples walk in the spirit and find how to love their spouse in Christlike ways. It also teaches the concept of unity-working toward reaching agreement in all decisions. Wouldn't it be great if our marriage could be total happiness?  Not without God and living together in unity. To be equally yoked and living in unity-working together instead of apart is the only true way to happiness as a married person.

6. Life in Forgiveness- Embracing Reconciliation with God and Others

Forgiveness is the greatest gift. It is one I had my own issues with and feel it is probably difficult for most people. Letting go is one of the hardest things I've worked through. I wish I would have had this book in the past. The book helps teach you how to experience forgiveness and reconciliation in even your most difficult relationships. Learn the difference between the two and also be reminded of the undeniable link between our willingness to forgive and our relationship with God.

About the Book

Book: Fatal Invitation

Author: S.F. Baumgartner

Genre: Crime Thriller

Vanished women. A rising body count. A detective who won’t quit.

Detective Kylie “KC” Cassidy thought Major Crimes would be her big break. Instead, she’s chasing the brutal murders of young women—and the trail keeps circling back to Assistant State Attorney Gavin Watkins and his elusive ally, Kozlov.

Each lead vanishes before her eyes, every step forward dragging her deeper into danger. And when Kozlov’s men come after her, KC must rely on her instincts, and on the few people she can trust, to survive long enough to expose the truth.

But when KC gets too close to the truth, she becomes the target. Will KC survive the trap and bring down the predators or become their next victim?

If you like the relentless pursuit of justice in Michael Connelly’s Harry Bosch series, the sharp investigative instincts of Lisa Gardner’s D.D. Warren, then you’ll be captivated by Fatal Invitation, a gripping, fast-paced crime thriller.

MY REVIEW
Fatal invitation is a fast-paced, non-stop crime story. I was immersed into the story right away and it kept my interest as it led me down one twist after another. What started as a serial killer suspect, all of a sudden was headed in another very interesting direction. The line up of suspects kept building and kept me guessing.

The descriptions are written are vivid and made me feel like I was right there. The characters are a well-developed mix with plenty of layers to keep me engaged. Detective Kylie is determined, sassy, and has great instincts. This is a very well laid book that kept me on the edge of my seat most of the time. Highly recommended.

I received a complimentary copy from the author; a positive review is not required. All opinions are my own.

A New Adventure Begins: Introducing the Detective Kylie Cassidy Series

I’m thrilled to announce that Fatal Invitation, the first full-length novel in the Detective Kylie Cassidy series, is here!

If you’re new to Detective Kylie “KC” Cassidy, I recommend starting with Christmas Murders to get acquainted with this compelling character. And here’s a treat: there’s a free story called Orlando Prime – Origins available under the Freebie tab on my website at sfbaumgartner.com. This story introduces you to the elite crime-fighting unit and the team members who work alongside KC. Both KC and Orlando Prime take center stage in Fatal Invitation.

Writing this book has been an absolute blast! Unlike my Mirror Estate series, the Detective Kylie Cassidy series features self-contained stories in each book—think of it like your favorite TV crime drama where each episode (or book) solves a complete case. While there may occasionally be an overarching storyline, you can jump in at any point and enjoy the mystery. And as always, my books are clean reads.

Since this is a spin-off of the Mirror Estate series, longtime readers will enjoy spotting familiar faces. A few beloved characters get mentioned, and some may even guest-star in future books!

I truly hope you’ll fall in love with this new series as much as I’ve loved creating it.

Happy Reading!

Blog Tour of A Father's Dream by Heidi Ennis

A Father's Dream JustRead Blog Tour

Welcome to the Blog Tour for A Father's Dream by Heidi Ennis, hosted by JustRead Publicity Tours!

About the Book

A Father's Dream

Title: A Father's Dream
Series: Columbia River Saga #1
Author:
Heidi Ennis
Publisher:
At the Foot of Mountains
Release Date:
December 11, 2023
Genre: Christian Historical Romance

A young Swedish immigrant determined to survive.

A mountain guide haunted by his past.

In 1883, in the Pacific Northwest, their lives collide in a faith-filled historical romance of courage, forgiveness, and second chances.

Johanna Amalia Nilsdotter Oman has left everything she knows behind. By crossing an ocean and a continent, she now faces the two-hundred-mile journey up the Columbia River into Washington Territory. Her father purchased land near Lyle with dreams of building a sawmill, and Johanna is determined that nothing—not distance, danger, or loneliness—will stop her from reaching their new home.

John is a man running from everything. Haunted by shame and regret, he has chosen the wilderness as his grave, determined to vanish into the mountains and die alone.

But before he can disappear, he accepts one final job: guiding a Swedish settler named Nils Oman into the rugged foothills above the Columbia River. The promised twenty dollars will buy him freedom—or so he believes.

But God has other plans. When Johanna’s path collides with John’s, both must face the truth they’ve been running from. In the shadow of towering evergreens and the roar of the Columbia, they will discover that even in the darkest wilderness, God’s love brings redemption, healing, and the courage to begin again.

Fans of Christian historical romance, frontier love stories, and faith-filled pioneer fiction will be swept away by this tender story of hope, forgiveness, and second chances in the wild beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

My Review

A young woman from Sweden decides to go to America to claim her father's property he left her when he died. The trip isn't anything like she thought and endured a traumatic event. The story is about the raw, partly established West in 1885. Being a woman traveling part of the way alone, she finds herself in lots of difficult situations. The guide John, her father hired to lead him to the property, is finally guiding her.

There are many parts of the story that touched my heart, some parts caught me holding my breath. I wondered how everything would work out in the end. There were times when I had tears in my eyes. But God had a hand in the situations and provided healing in the end. The ending wrapped up everything nicely with a happy ending.

I received a complimentary copy from the author; a positive review is not required. All opinions are my own.

Scars of the Revolution Blog Tour by Megan Soja

About the Book

Book: Scars of the Revolution

Author: Megan Soja

Genre: Christian Historical Romance

Release Date: January 6, 2026

Some scars are born from duty, others from rebellion—theirs were carved by both.

Libby Caldwell has been in love with Isaac Harrison for years, ever since her late father befriended him. While her head knows there is no hope of sharing her life with a British soldier, her heart is much more difficult to convince, especially now that he is quartering in her home. With Boston under siege and battle looming, each day together forces her to recognize how deep her feelings truly are…and how forbidden.

Bound by duty to both his family and country, Isaac is determined to serve honorably in the King’s army, despite never wishing to be a soldier. But quartering with the widow and daughter of his old friend places another obligation on his shoulders—that of their well-being. The more time he spends with Miss Caldwell, the more that duty begins to feel like something personal, something he cannot allow.

As the siege of Boston tightens, Libby finds herself drawn into a dangerous game of espionage that could save the Patriot cause—and destroy any chance of a future with the man she’s growing to love.

Will betrayal and war keep their two worlds forever apart? Or will they look to the One whose love knows no bounds to bring them healing and a future?

My Review
Scars of the Revolution got my attention at the beginning. I couldn't stop reading... Libby and Isaac's story is one of complications, spies, mistrust, betrayal, and forgiveness.

A young woman, Libby finds herself in a precarious situation when she falls in love with a British Officer, Isaac. They find themselves on opposite sides of the war. Libby's strong faith and that of her mother's, keep them close to God, and hope for the future.

There are twists to the story you won't see coming. The characters have lots of layers. The story is set at what becomes the American Revolution. There are lots of hardships for the town, lack of food and shelter. The history of the war was woven seamlessly along with the fiction details. Highly recommended.

I received a complimentary copy from the author; a positive review is not required. All opinions are my own.

About the Author

Megan Soja is a multi-award-winning author who writes stories with strong faith, rich history, and sweet romance. She lives in western NY with her husband and two daughters and loves having adventures, both big and small, with her family. When she’s not writing, she enjoys reading, hiking, canoeing and kayaking, and playing French Horn.

More from Megan

One of the things I love about reading and writing Christian fiction, is being able to see God’s truth woven into the story. Even though the characters and their experiences are fictional, the truth of who God is and how He loves us is very real.

In Scars of the Revolution, my heroine, Libby Caldwell, wrestles with understanding God’s goodness in the face of loss and hardship. Libby is grieving the death of her beloved father, while also facing the siege of her hometown and the worsening fight between the Patriot colonists and the British Army stationed in Boston. Her growing love for one of the British officers further complicates matters, and makes it hard for her to discern what God is doing in her life.

Her questions and struggles reflect much of my own faith journey. When my husband and I lost our first baby just after birth, I spent months trying to reconcile what I thought I knew of God with the tragic loss we had experienced. I wasn’t angry at God, but I was utterly confused as to how to understand His goodness in the midst of something that felt anything but good.

It wasn’t easy, but when I look back now, I see how God led me through my grief into a deeper understand of His character and a stronger reliance upon Him. I can truthfully say, as Libby’s mother does in Scars of the Revolution, that it was “in the hardest times, when God has seemed utterly incomprehensible, that my faith has grown the most.”

If you have ever walked through a painful experience that made you struggle to understand God’s purpose or even doubt His love, I hope that Libby’s journey will inspire your own faith. Or maybe your experience is more like that of my hero, Isaac Harrison, whose life has revolved around duty for so long, that it is hard for him to comprehend a God who freely gives His love and forgiveness, even when we don’t deserve or cannot earn it. I won’t give any spoilers as to how Isaac’s understanding grows and changes, but I hope you’ll be encouraged when you read it.

Libby and Isaac’s story is one of love against all odds, set against the backdrop of the Battle of Bunker Hill and a complex web of espionage. But it is also a story of faith in the God who is able to turn our scars into something beautiful. I pray you will find that truth in the pages of Scars of the Revolution.

MY REVIEW
The Silver Lode is an exciting adventure from beginning to end. The idea of early mining fueled my interest, as it has been something that always kept my interest. The setting of Jerome, Arizona and the outskirts with its abandoned mines made a wonderful backdrop for the story.

There are so many twists and turns to the storyline that it kept me guessing and turning pages. I couldn't put it down. The main characters had lots of layers. Paul & Marty's friendship found them trying to help the Reyes family discover the truth about a relative that had disappeared many years ago. The slow romance during times of stress and danger kept the tension high. I loved the ending which wrapped up everything nicely. A great read.

I received a complimentary copy from the author; a positive review is not required. All opinions are my own.

About the Author

Suzanne J. Bratcher, Ph.D., delights in writing contemporary mysteries sprinkled with history. Her award-winning novels are set in the very real ghost town of Jerome, Arizona as well as the Four Corners states: New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah. Bratcher lives in Phoenix, Arizona. When she’s not writing, she enjoys reading with her granddaughter, laughing at her rescue cat, and piecing colorful quilt scraps.

More from Suzanne

When readers ask me where I get my ideas, I sometimes wonder if they expect me to reveal a secret process for starting a book. I only wish I could. But far from proceeding along the steps of a process, each of my books begins with nothing more than a spark that catches my imagination like a match catches a piece of kindling. I pile ideas on the spark and when I have enough for a blaze, I start to write. The spark for The Silver Lode was a 3-D display of the myriad abandoned mining tunnels that crisscross the hill beneath the ghost town of Jerome, Arizona.

The idea for The Silver Lode came to me while I was still an English teacher. So, what was I doing studying a model of a long defunct copper mine when I should have been reading William Faulkner or e.e.  cummings? The reality was-at the time, I had no idea I was studying a copper mine. I thought I was visiting an old house.

The first time I turned off Arizona Highway 89A to visit Jerome State Historic Park, I wanted to tour to the Douglas mansion, the park headquarters. I love old houses. I’ve visited Thomas Jefferson’s home, George Washington’s, numerous antebellum mansions scattered throughout the South, and the family homes of many famous American writers. The Douglas Mansion, then, was a natural stop. But besides old houses, I also love research-learning simply for the sake of learning. I don’t have to have a specific goal in mind to enjoy adding bits of information to my hodgepodge of knowledge.

So…as I strolled through the high-ceilinged rooms in the Douglas mansion, I found myself drawn into the history of copper mining in Jerome. In addition to the three-dimensional display of the mine tunnels, I saw shelves of rocks and minerals bathed in ultraviolet light, a wall of photographs of the Douglas family that included one of Winston Churchill’s sisters, and a video that told the story of the ghosts of Cleopatra Hill. My interest piqued, I plunged more deeply into research. I bought books and read firsthand accounts of life in the billion-dollar copper camp. I visited the Jerome Historical Society and read yellowing newspapers. I ventured into the Mining Museum and wandered through a reconstructed mineshaft. I searched the internet for information about mining in the late 1800s and early 1900s, whether for copper, silver, or gold.

By now I was actively working on a plot that would revolve around mining for silver in Jerome. Because The Silver Lode was the second book in my trilogy of Jerome mysteries, I already had the main characters for the story. In my head I could see Scott, a young teenager, exploring those interlocking tunnels under the town. But I didn’t know what he was looking for. I needed another spark to start that fire.

I ran across it quite accidentally as I was reading about a large deposit of silver mixed with gold discovered in Virginia City, Nevada in 1859. Dubbed a silver lode, it was one of the richest deposits of its kind ever discovered. Of course, the Comstock Lode had nothing to do with mining in Jerome between the two World Wars. Nor did the history of Nevada influence the history of Arizona in the 1920s. Still, as I read about a large deposit of silver mixed with gold called a silver lode, I knew I had found both the treasure and the title for the story I was working on.

The next big story question was “Who else is looking for the silver lode?”  In other words, “Who is the villain?” It was clear I needed secondary characters to drive the search for my imaginary silver lode buried deep in Cleopatra Hill. These characters came from my research into the families who built the town of Jerome and spread down the hill to build Clarkdale. I had my ideas.

Now…back to the question my readers sometimes ask: where do I get the ideas for my mysteries? The answer is as simple as it is complicated: I get my ideas from research. As I write, I use these ideas as a springboard so that they appear in camouflage. When you read The Silver Lode, I hope you find these nuggets of fact buried deep in the imaginary story of the long ago murder of a college student’s grandfather, a contemporary search for a legendary silver lode, and a desperate rush to save a child’s life.

My Review
Underestimated had me turning pages from the beginning—awesome main characters filled with humor, fear, and intelligence. I especially liked seeing Liam's growth and his layers evolve. The story is about a goat farm in Tennessee and a strange inheritance that left lots of questions.

The suspense never lets up as more questions than answers push the main characters to unravel the mystery surrounding Liam's grandfather. Guessing where the story would take me next kept me turning pages. I couldn't put it down. This is a must-read- greed, danger, betrayal, but also a surprising ending and a budding romance. It will keep you guessing.

I received a complimentary copy from the author; a positive review is not required. All opinions are my own.

About the Author

Sherri Wilson Johnson writes romantic suspense from her home in Georgia where she lives with her husband, their two dogs and spoiled Bombay cat. Sherri loves spending time with family, vacationing at the beach, reading or working on her current work-in-progress. She dreams of a second home on some beach somewhere some day, where she can plot romantically suspenseful novels around the clock.

More from Sherri

In Underestimated, Liam Holcomb cooks his grandmother’s Beef Hash recipe. This is actually one of my mom’s recipes that I cook quite often. She passed away in 1993, and cooking her Beef Hash always brings fond memories to my mind. So I’ll share the recipe with you now. Keep in mind that just like Liam’s grandmother, I use lots of garlic salt. I sample along the way until I get just the right amount of seasoning. You may want to use more or less, depending on your preference.

But here are the basics:

Ingredients:

2 lbs lean ground beef

6-8 yellow potatoes (or 4 large Idaho potatoes) cut into cubes

½ cup finely chopped onions or dried minced onions

2-3 large cut carrots (or a ½ to ¾ bag of frozen cut carrots)

Black pepper to taste

Garlic powder and onion powder to taste

Lawry’s Coarse Ground with Parsley Garlic Salt (This is the secret sauce—use as much as you want to get that good savory flavor to your liking.) (I probably use ¼ cup for a large batch, but I’m not 100% sure, honestly. I always eyeball it and then taste it once it’s done.)

Instructions:

Season the ground beef with the garlic salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder. Brown, drain and rinse.

Cut the potatoes into cubes and slice the carrots into circles about ½ inch thick. Boil until tender (you can use an Instantpot or pressure cooker). You can add salt to the water, but I usually don’t because I don’t want to overdo the salt. I save the saltiness for the garlic salt.

After the potatoes and carrots are tender, scoop them into a pot with the ground beef and add the potato water as the broth. You can add as much as you like depending on how much broth you like.

Bring everything to a boil, smashing some of the potatoes until the broth thickens.

Toast hamburger buns until crispy then pour the Beef Hash on top and gobble it up.

Serve with a side salad.

My Review
Another winner in the Security Hounds series. Scent of Sabotage is a wonderful end to the series. I was kept on the edge of my seat many times throughout the story, holding my breath before I even realized it. The story kept me guessing from one twist to another.

It has nonstop action and is a page-turner that will keep you wondering what will happen next. The addition of the bloodhound, Arthur, and a pup called Poe stole the show a few times. The closed-down amusement park made for an exciting cat-and-mouse chase to try and stay alive. I loved the ending, which wrapped everything up nicely. I highly recommend Scent of Sabotage.

More from Dana

How could we be at the end of a series? I’ve been having a wonderful time with the Wolfe family and their house full of hounds. The last book is finally Beth’s story. She’s the matriarch of the family who has experienced the loss of a spouse. In this story, she will meet the son she never knew and explore the idea of learning to love again. I feel especially fond of this book because Beth is an older heroine who has some living under her belt. She’s learned how to carry on, with her old dog Arthur, and stand faithfully in the face of adversity. Now that’s a heroine I can root for! I hope you enjoy this final installment of the Security Hounds series!
