MY REVIEW
5 star rating
Twin Murder MixUp is an exciting on the edge of your seat suspense involving twin sisters and mistaken identities. Lots of twists to the story, great characters, and an exciting finish that wraps everything up nicely.

The characters of Amy and Keith are well developed, and I connected with them right away. The mystery aspects of the story evaded me until almost the end. A good read with intense scenes that will leave you breathless wondering what will happen next. Highly recommended.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and voluntarily choose to review it.

About the Author

Sami A. Abrams lives in Northern California, but she’ll always be a Kansas girl at heart. She loves to travel and watch sports. However, most evenings, you’ll find her engrossed in a romantic suspense novel. She thinks a crime plus a little romance is the recipe for a great story.

More from Sami

#Authorproblems   That’s what the excitement around Keith Young was…a problem—Kinda. Lol!

When I started to hear request for his story, I panicked. Authors don’t want to disappoint their readers. And being new to the published scene…Well, you get the picture. 😊

After the release of Buried Cold Case Secrets, many readers told me they wanted Keith’s story. In fact, the overwhelming response puzzled me. What had I done to create such a buzz about Jason’s partner? And of course, I had to ask why?

The general answer I received…Keith’s a nice guy and the perfect partner.

I have to admit, I got a little nervous since I had already written his story. And I worried if I’d done his character justice?

However, after writing Buried Cold Case Secrets, I knew Keith had to have his own story. He’s such a great guy and needed his happily ever after. So, I dove in and asked, what would happen if he made a huge mistake? Not just a physical one, but a heart one.

By the time I finished, I loved seeing Keith and Amy move past their poor choices and hurt to find acceptance and love. The perfect ending to Keith’s struggles.

All that to say, I hope you love Keith and Amy’s story as much as I do.  #TeamKeith

MY REVIEW
5 star review

Sofia takes on a hidden identity and disappears from her parents and the life she had. Now Amalia, her life is one of protecting the clients through the K-9 unit. Only, the next client she is assigned to will turn her life upside down and make her question who she really is.

Lots of twists to the plot, high tension circumstances, and an unexpected ending. The story had me engaged from the beginning and the characters were well-developed. Easy to read writing style. This is a story you don't want to miss. Sweet moments, forgiveness, and a road back to God wrap everything up nicely.

I received an ARC from the author and voluntarily choose to review it. All opinions are my own.

MY REVIEW
5 stars

Caroline Vogel, to prove her independence travels from Missouri to Boulder City, Colorado to work her gold claim. Alone, except for the company of an Indian woman she rescues, she feels confident she can make a go of it.

The storyline takes a turn Caroline isn't prepared for. God has a different plan for her life. The Christian aspect is woven through the story with comping to grips with other's faults, redemption and forgiveness. Two broken people find that what they are running from may be exactly what they need.

The story has some twists I didn't see coming and some tender moments that were surprising. The descriptions of life on the trail and gold panning made the story come to life. I received a complimentary copy from the author and voluntarily choose to review it.

About the Author

Linda Shenton Matchett writes about ordinary people who did extraordinary things in days gone by. A volunteer docent and archivist for the Wright Museum of WWII, Linda is a former trustee for her local public library. She is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and was born a stone’s throw from Fort McHenry. Linda has lived in historic places all her life, and is now located in central New Hampshire where her favorite activities include exploring historic sites and immersing herself in the imaginary worlds created by other authors.

More from Linda

Dear Readers,

Have you ever heard the quote about Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers that says, “Sure he was great, but don’t forget that Ginger Rogers did everything he did, backwards…and in high heels?” Originally seen in a 1982 Frank and Ernest comic strip, the line has been used by many people from comedians to politicians.

A slight twist on the statement can be made about women in the centuries before modern attire allowed them to wear slacks…they did everything men did, but in floor-length skirts (to say nothing of when they had to wear corsets!). A few examples include cooking over an open hearth, hauling water before the invention of pumps and indoor plumbing, farm work such as milking cows or gardening, and riding a horse.

One of my favorite aspects about writing is developing the characters, especially the female protagonists. Mine are typically…well, untypical. The gals in my books are war correspondents, mechanics, spies, doctors, pilots, and midwives, just to name a few. While thinking about what to write next, I stumbled on an article about female prospectors, and I knew I had my story. The few images I found confirmed my suspicion. These women prospected alongside the men,  swirling their pans of silt hour after hour…all while wearing a dress.

I continued to dig and was delighted to find journals and diaries of these stalwart women who either followed their husbands, brothers, or fathers to the gold field or actually set out on their own. The first book in the series, Gold Rush Bride Hannah takes in northern Georgia during the rush of 1829 when more than one million dollars of gold was unearthed.

Today’s tour book, Gold Rush Bride Caroline, is about Hannah’s daughter and takes place during the 1859 Pike’s Peak Gold Rush in Colorado. I hope you enjoy Caroline’s story.

Blessings,

Linda Shenton Matchett

MY REVIEW
5 star rating

A Search for Redemption is an inspiring and inspirational Amish story with the main theme of forgiveness in its deepest form. Grace, a young woman who takes care of her parents while working at a quilt shop, suddenly finds her life changing in a most unexpected way. The loss of her betrothed, still a hurtful memory, haunts her days. Joel, an Englisher now, but with a past full of heartache and a time spent in prison, decides to return to his hometown. His life will never be the same.

The characters are well-developed and through the pages, I understood their heartache, but also the determination and strength they mustered to forgiveness. There are a lot of emotional parts to the story where I needed to reach for the tissues, but also joyful times where my heart soared with hope knowing God's will was leading them to where they needed to be.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and choose to review it. All opinions are my own.

MY REVIEW
5 star rating

Three families, all trying to recover from past hurts. Rence, recovering from a nasty divorce moves with her young daughter to Grace, Oregon.  Her sister, Sandy and her young son, Josiah accompany her.
A strange town, starting over, and a new job gives Rence a whole new set of challenges. When she crosses paths with, Carl and his mother, Greta, things become more complicated.

I enjoyed following the families and seeing how God begins to change their lives. The storyline is inspirational, and uplifting filled with hope and lots of faith. I hated for it to end.

One of the best Christmas stories I've read in a long time. All the characters are well-developed and will make their way into your heart. Highly recommended.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and voluntarily choose to review it.

About the Author

Her travels and her family are the sources of her inspiration for her books. Kathleen and her Pastor husband have eight adult children. Seven are married, blessing them with eighteen grandchildren and counting. Her ethnically diverse background extends to her family of currently thirty-five personalities which provide many opportunities to share God’s amazing love amidst the challenges of real life.

More from Kathleen

I love Christmas stories, and since becoming an author, I’ve wanted to write one. Mistletoe Village started out as Mistletoe Hermit, but then it wasn’t going in quite the happy direction that I wanted. So Mistletoe Village was born. I wrote this sweet, cozy, slightly suspenseful romance with all the elements that make Christmas … Christmas! But most importantly, it’s always about the faith element, Christ.

The main character Rence Paladin is dear to my heart. She was created with someone extraordinary in mind, and I had that person read the book to see what she thought. When she finished, she turned bright red and answered, even if you hadn’t told me … I knew it was me! However, it’s not her story, but it encompasses her delightful personality, some of her sweet memories of a single-mom, and how she strives to keep her focus on Christ while always serving others.

So let’s go. Let me take you to Mistletoe Village. You’ll find a little of everything that oozes Christmas in the tiny town of Grace. Holiday spirit, decorations, a children’s church pageant, and a Christmas festival. Oh, and I’ll introduce you to little Gus, the feisty family cock-a-poo. But most of all, I hope you, like Rence and Carl, rediscover the joy of Christmas at Mistletoe Village.

Love Blooms in Morning Star Blog Tour & Giveaway by Charlotte Hubbard

This post is part of a virtual book tour organized by Goddess Fish Promotions. Charlotte Hubbard will be awarding a $15 Amazon or B/N GC to a randomly drawn winner via rafflecopter during the tour.Click on the tour banner to see the other stops on the tour.

As Jo Fussner keeps the Marketplace humming, her heart dances with a joyous secret. Jo and Michael Wengerd, a shy nursery owner from a nearby town, have fallen hopelessly in love. When Michael buys a courting buggy, Jo is sure a proposal will follow. But she’ll have to work hard to gain her mother’s approval—because the widowed Drusilla Fussner is convinced that marriage will bring her daughter nothing but heartache.

To win Jo’s hand, Michael enlists his father’s help in convincing Drusilla to give the marriage her blessing—and perhaps even open her heart to new happiness of her own. .  But just as Jo and Michael’s hope for their future grows, an even bigger obstacle loom. The Amish elders vote to forbid any maidel from working once she marries. Now Jo must choose between the beloved store she’s put her heart into, and the man she can’t live without. Conflicted, Jo will have to trust that anything is possible when true faith guides the way.

Read an Excerpt

Jo was soon pulled out of the ceremonial spell the bishop wove with his words, however, meeting Michael’s gaze again. It had been such a blessing when she’d spotted him earlier this morning, striding toward her. As he’d done in her fondest dreams over the winter, he’d held out his hands and she’d grabbed them as though she’d never let them go.

“I have a surprise for you, Josie-girl,” he’d whispered. “Right after the wedding, you’ll see it.”

Josie-girl. The sound of Michael’s unique endearment had made her eager heart turn somersaults. How was she supposed to pay attention to the wedding ceremony while she wondered about the surprise he’d promised?

But one thing Jo knew, as surely as she could bake cinnamon rolls: Michael had returned to Morning Star loving her even more than when Mamm had sent him and his dat away at Christmas. Michael and Nelson weren’t renting the Fussners’ dawdi haus anymore, but the Wengerds were back in her life, and they intended to move forward with the plans they’d made during her visit to their home in Queen City last December.

Life simply didn’t get any more exciting than that!

MY REVIEW
5 star review

Jo & Michael build their relationship but not without circumstances stealing their happiness. Jo's mother, hiding a bitter secret, takes some of the happiness away also. Love Blooms in Morning Star is a love story of couples who have to get past hurts and learn forgiveness. The Old Order Amish rules are under scrutiny which further complicates things.

I loved reading about the Amish community life and the way everyone comes together in times of need. There are definite feelings of God's work in the couples lives with redemption and new love. There were some bumps and twists to the plot that made for some intense moments and kept me wanting to see how things would turn out in the end.

A very well-written Amish tale that warmed my heart and made it a very inspirational and uplifting read. Highly recommended.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and voluntarily choose to review it.
