Debbie Lynne Costello has enjoyed writing stories since she
was eight years old. She raised her family and then embarked on her own career
of writing the stories that had been begging to be told.
She and her husband
have four children and live in upstate South Carolina. She has worked in many
capacities in her church and is currently the Children's Director. She loves
the Lord and hopes people will be uplifted and inspired by her writing.
Debbie Lynne has shown and raised Shetland Sheepdogs for
eighteen years and still enjoys litters now and then. In their spare time, she
and her husband take pleasure in camping and riding their Arabian and Tennessee
Walking horses.
Amnesia can numb your pain…
…. unless it gets you killed.
A freak earthquake upends Olivia’s world, while two men
claim her love. When her memory begins to return in bits and pieces, Olivia
discovers embezzlement. With danger lurking all around her, she must continue
the charade of amnesia. But will time run out on her before she uncovers the
truth?
MY REVIEW
Shattered Memories kept me engaged from the first chapter. The author's descriptions of the city of Charleston after the quake and how the citizens handled the aftermath made me feel as though I was experiencing it with them. The historical aspect of the story made it come alive.
I loved the character of Olivia and her courage to hang on to hope even though the amnesia clouded her judgment. Andrew was compassionate and loving in spite of feeling the love of his life drifting away from him. There were a lot of tense moments between them which created anticipation of what would happen next and kept the suspense going.
Lloyd, on the other hand, was cunning, underhanded, and went to no end to get what he wanted. The perfect villain.
There are beautiful lessons in God's love entwined throughout the pages of the story that make the reader stop and ponder over them. The unfolding love story weaved within the pages in spite of a lot of deceptions, brings forth a wonderful ending that wraps up nicely.
I received the book as a gift and voluntarily choose to review it.

DeleteHi Debbie, your story sounds so interesting. I love amnesia stories.
ReplyDeleteThis one is right up your ally then! So much research went into this book, between the amnesia and the actual history of the Charleston earthquake. It was so much fun researching, especially the eye witness accounts which I did use in the book.
